When should I have my rig inspected?

Rig failures are usually caused from poor upkeep and breakage of connectors and fittings, especially the ones that connect the shrouds to the mast. While quick visual inspections can sometimes show potential issues, a more thorough inspection from a trained rigger is recommended.

Rig inspections should be performed annually and is also advisable to have done prior to a major passage at sea.

Gulf Coast Rigging is experienced with all types of sailing vessels and has been offering rig inspection services in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, Venice and all nearby areas since 2009.

What Others Are Saying...

Two years ago, Gulf Coast Rigging inspected my rig on my 42Ft Hunter Passage and found a crack in one of the fittings. I had them rerig all the shrouds and stays. I found them to be honest and fair with their pricing. They kept me informed all through the process and did excellent work with only quality materials.

The boat just went through hurricane Ian 140 to 150 mile and hour winds while on my dock in Punta Gorda. Several of the boats around me have broken mast because their rigging failed. My rigging held up with absolutely no damage. I would highly recommend Gulf Coast Rigging to anyone thinking of rerigging their boat.
